How we built it

  1. Step 1

    Down to the studs

We removed the old tub, tile, and walls down to the framing.

  2. Step 2

    A waterproof base

New waterproof backer board on the walls, and a sealed shower base and curb around the new drain.

  3. Step 3

    Tile, set level

Large-format wall tile installed with a leveling system, plus a recessed niche.

Floors, Stairs, and Basement Work

A kitchen floor repaired from the subfloor up, a bedroom and a staircase redone in vinyl plank, and a basement build-out we’re working on now.

  • Kitchen Floor, Repaired From the Subfloor Up

The old floor had a hole through the subfloor. We pulled up the old layers, repaired the subfloor, and installed new vinyl plank flooring.

  • Bedroom, Carpet to New Floors

We replaced stained carpet with vinyl plank flooring, painted the walls, and added new baseboard trim.

  • Stairs, Carpet to Vinyl Treads

We pulled up the worn carpet and installed dark vinyl plank treads with clean white risers.

  • Basement Build-Out

Still in progress. We resurfaced the crumbling foundation walls with fresh cement, then put up new walls and a ceiling and installed three new doors.
